EDPMA sends SGR letter to Speaker Pelosi The Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA) and 127 medical organizations have sent a letter urging passage of H.R. 3961, the “Medicare Physician Payment Reform Act,” which would cancel the 21.2 percent cut to Medicare physician payments scheduled to take effect Jan. 1. Senate Finance Committee Chairman's Mark Released Senator Baucus has released his mark of the America's Healthy Futures Act of 2009. The document is scheduled for markup by the Senate Finance Committee on September 22. Draft Framework for Comprehensive Health Care Reform Senator Baucus has released a draft framework which is being discussed by the Gang of Six (Senators Baucus, Conrad, Bingaman, Enzi, Grassley, Snowe) today. Baucus is being clear to note that this is not a "Chairman's Mark" document, but rather an approach for discussion. EDPMA Submits Comments to CMS EDPMA has submitted comments to CMS on the 2010 Physician Fee Schedule and the HOPD payment proposed rules. EDPMA believes that its HCR principles are consistent with the objectives described in the Finance Committee's options papers as well as with the eight principles outlined by President Obama.
